Preparation Time : 30 minutes
Cooking Time : 15 minutes

Ingredients :
  • 12 - 15 kokum
  • 1 coconut grated
  • 1 green chilli
  • 2 cloves garlic

  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required


Method :
  • Soak the kokum in hot water for 1 hour.
  • Squeeze the soaked kokum to extract the juice, strain the juice and remove the pods.
  • In a mixer grinder add the green chilli, garlic, coriander leaves and cumin seeds and grind them to a rough paste and keep it aside.
  • Grind the coconut and blend it to smooth paste by adding warm water for grinding, strain the blended coconut, you will get a smooth paste. Strain the paste through a fine sieve to extract the coconut milk and keep it aside.
  • Repeat the process of grinding and extracting till you get the coconut milk, with every repeated process the milk starts turning thinner.
  • In a bowl add the coconut milk, kokum juice and the grinded paste with salt to taste, stir it and garnish it with chopped coriander leaves.
