Falooda

Falooda is a delicious beverage loaded with basil seeds added with sweetness of jelly, dry fruits, ice cream and rose syrup. Basil seeds gives a cooling effect and adding them in milk mixed with rose syrup make a good summer drink. Serves : 4
Preparation Time : 30 minutes
Cooking Time : 25 minutes

Ingredients :
  • ½ cup plain vermicelli
  • 4 tsp soaked and drained sabja seeds / basil seeds
  • 1 litre milk
  • 3-4 tbsp of sugar
  • ½ cup of homemade jelly

  • 1 cup water
  • Roohafza or Rose syrup
  • Chopped dry fruits ( almonds, cashew nuts, raisins pistachios) or Tutty fruity ice-cream or any dry fruit ice-cream


Method :
  • On a medium flame boil 1 litre milk and reduce it to half while stirring continuously.
  • Add sugar to it and keep stirring for 5 mins and then take it off the heat.
  • Let it cool and then refrigerate the boiled milk for 30mins to set it.
  • On a medium flame boil one cup of water, add the vermicelli, once it is cooked remove the hot water, and completely drain it and keep aside
  • Take a long glass, add 1-2 tsp rose syrup then add the drained sabja seed, then add the boiled vermicelli, then add the jelly cut into squares then slowly add the chilled milk and top up with scoop of ice-cream of your choice or simply top up with the dry fruits.
  • Your Falooda is ready to relish.
